Stan Majoor

Professor Coordination of Urban Issues
at the Amsterdam University of Applied Science

Stan Majoor (1977) is professor Coordination of Urban Issues. His research focuses on large-scale development projects, institutional and communicative approaches to planning, organizational ambidexterity and urbanization. Stan is also Director of the AUAS focus area Urban Management.

Between 2001 and 2015 he worked at the University of Amsterdam as a junior researcher, post-doc and assistant professor in Urban and Regional Planning. Between 2008 and 2012 he was program director of the Bachelor of Social Geography and Planning and board member of the College of Social Sciences of the University of Amsterdam. In 2008 he defended his PhD thesis on three large-scale urban development projects. From June 2007 until August 2008 he worked as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong.

Since 2009, Stan holds the chair of the Project Management Bureau ‘Leerhuis Amsterdam’.
